Hawk Nelson - Live Life Loud

Live Life Loud - because Christians shouldn't be the silent minority. We should love people with extravagance, just as Christ did on the cross.

Lyrics from here

Someone throw your hands up
If you wanna take a chance, then
You gotta sing a little louder
Let’s wake this crowd up

Someone throw your hands up
If you wanna take a chance, then
You gotta sing a little louder
Let’s wake this crowd up

I got a hankerin’ for something special
Tonight’s the night it becomes official
Don’t stop the rock, hold both your hands up
S-show these people how to shake things up

I’m not sittin’ down ’til I’m older
And I’m not shuttin’ up ’til it’s over
Raise your hands and shout if you’re with me
Then once we start it won’t make a difference

If you wanna live life loud, throw your hands up
If you wanna scream and shout, lemme hear you
Takin’ all the fakers out if you’re with me
Everybody work it, just keep living

Wow oh oh, wow oh oh, wow oh oh

I started figurin’ with good intentions
Listen up now, give me your attention
Don’t make a sound if you don’t believe me
You won’t wake up, you’ll just keep living

I’m not sittin’ down ’til I’m older

And I’m not shuttin’ up ’til it’s over
Raise your hands and shout if you’re with me
Then once we start it won’t make a difference

If you wanna live life loud, throw your hands up
If you wanna scream and shout, lemme hear you
Takin’ all the fakers out if you’re with me
Everybody work it, just keep living

Wow oh oh, wow oh oh, wow oh oh
Every time that I close my eyes,
I catch a glimpse of the west coast sunrise
And I can tell you you’re just as beautiful

Someone throw your hands up
If you wanna take a chance, then
You gotta sing a little louder
Let’s wake this crowd up

Someone throw your hands up
If you wanna take a chance, then
You gotta sing a little louder
Let’s wake this crowd up

If you wanna live life loud, throw your hands up
If you wanna scream and shout, lemme hear you
Takin’ all the fakers out if you’re with me
Everybody work it, just keep living
Wow oh oh,
Wow oh oh (Just keep living)
Wow oh oh

Relient K - Forget And Not Slow Down

Relient K - Forget And Not Slow Down

I get so busy... and a lot of times I don't want to think about what has happened but simply "move on.' Let go of the past, but remember what you've been through to motivate what you do now and in the future:

Lyrics (from LyricsReg.com)

How many times
Can I push it aside
Is it time I befriended all the ghosts of all the things that haunt me most
So they leave me alone
Move on with my life
Be certain the steps of left and right don't fight the direction of upright

I'd rather forget and not slow down
Than gather regret for the things I can't change now
If I become what I can't accept
Resurrect the saint from within the wretch
Pour over me and wash my hands of it

It's time to decide
Which is out of my mind
Cause it'll be me unless I put some thoughts to rest and leave some faults behind
I'll watch the glint in my eye
Shine off the spring in my step
And could be blinding depending on the amount of You that I reflect

Cause I could spend my life just trying to sift through
What I could've done better but what good do what ifs do
Oh oh
Oh oh
There's something I should tell you now

Josh Wilson - I Refuse

A lot of times in 'modern Christianity' we have made the mistake of getting trapped in our own circles. We need to get out and be the hands and feet of Jesus, unlike the temptation to stay in our own little and comfortable lives instead of living for the Glory of His name. Josh Wilson's repsonse? He refuses...

Lyrics (from Elyrics.net)

Sometimes I
I just want to close my eyes
And act like everyone's alright
When I know they're not

This world needs God
But it's easier to stand and watch
I could say a prayer and just move on
Like nothing's wrong

But I refuse
'Cause I don't want to live like I don't care
I don't want to say another empty prayer
Oh, I refuse

To sit around and wait for someone else
To do what God has called me to do myself
Oh, I could choose
Not to move but I refuse

I can hear the least of these
Crying out so desperately
And I know we are the hands and feet
Of You, oh God

So, if You say move
It's time for me to follow through
And do what I was made to do
Show them who You are

'Cause I don't want to live like I don't care
I don't want to say another empty prayer
Oh, I refuse

To sit around and wait for someone else
To do what God has called me to do myself
Oh, I could choose
Not to move but I refuse

To stand and watch the weary and lost
Cry out for help
I refuse to turn my back
And try and act like all is well

I refuse to stay unchanged
To wait another day, to die to myself
I refuse to make one more excuse

'Cause I don't want to live like I don't care
I don't want to say another empty prayer
Oh, I refuse

To sit around and wait for someone else
To do what God has called me to do myself
Oh, I could choose
Not to move but I refuse

I refuse
I refuse

Hawk Nelson - Friend Like That

A song that describes someone we all need... and need to be.

Lyrics (from AZLyrics.com)

I like it simple and
I'm not a Superman
I never said that I was more than that
I'm not a wanna be
I'm who I want to be
And I intend to be
How you created me

[Pre-chorus:]
I... I need somebody on the inside
I... I want somebody who can set me free
I'm not The only one who feels like this
I've got a few others around me
Hey

[Chorus:]
Hey let me hear you say
Make some noise if you feel this way
Hey if you've got a friend like that
Hey let's scream and shout
If you know what I'm talking about
Anybody got a friend like that

I once was little and
I always had a plan
You thought my friendliness
Was just an act (hey)
I'll be your friend indeed
And you can count on me
And I can guarantee
Your friend I'll always be

[Pre-chorus]
[Chorus]

Does anyone out there feel alone?
Can anyone hear me (woh, woh)?
Down and out your heart is cold
It's never easy (woh, woh)
But if you believe that there is hope
Then sing it with me

[Chorus x2]

[Pre-chorus]

Red - Breath Into Me

A song about God and how we don't always listen to Him, but when we finally do, we need to ask Him to work in our lives and breath new life into our lives:

Lyrics (from YouTube)

And this is how it feels when I
Ignore the words you spoke to me
And this is where I lose myself
When I keep running away from you

And this is who I am when,
When I don't know myself anymore
And this is what I choose when
It's all left up to me

Breathe your life into me
I can feel you, I'm falling
Falling faster
Breathe your life into me
I still need you
I'm falling, falling
Breathe into me
Breathe into me
Breathe

And this is how it looks when
I am standing on the edge
And this is how I break apart
When I finally hit the ground

And this is how it hurts when I
Pretend I don't feel any pain
And this is how I disappear
When I throw myself away

Breathe into me
Breathe into me
Breathe into me

Relient K - Who I Am Hates Who I've Been

God is always in the business of giving us second chances. None is more true in the fact that Jesus came and died for us. In so many other ways, Christians and non-Christians share so many blessings from God as He is always giving us more chances, beckoning us to love Him in new and refreshing ways, asking us to come to Him for our satisfaction.

That’s what this song is about: Hating who we become when we find and seek other things in Him. It hurts God, others around us and ourselves when we do this. As the last part of the song says, “and who I am will take the second chance you gave me.” He is in the second-chance business, and I’m buying as much stock as I can of it.

Lyrics from here

I watched the proverbial sunrise
Coming up over the Pacific and
You might think I'm losing my mind,
But I will shy away from the specifics...

'cause I don't want you to know where I am
'cause then you'll see my heart
In the saddest state it's ever been.

This is no place to try and live my life.

[Pre-Chorus]
Stop right there. That's exactly where I lost it.
See that line. Well I never should have crossed it.
Stop right there. Well I never should have said
That it's the very moment that
I wish that I could take back.

[Chorus]
I'm sorry for the person I became.
I'm sorry that it took so long for me to change.
I'm ready to be sure I never become that way again
'cause who I am hates who I've been.
Who I am hates who I've been.

I talk to absolutely no one.
Couldn't keep to myself enough.
And the things bottled inside have finally begun
To create so much pressure that I'll soon blow up.

I heard the reverberating footsteps
Synching up to the beating of my heart,
And I was positive that unless I got myself together,
I would watch me fall apart.

And I can't let that happen again
'cause then you'll see my heart
In the saddest state it's ever been.

This is no place to try and live my life.

[Pre-Chorus x2]
[Chorus]

Who I am hates who I've been
And who I am will take the second chance you gave me.
Who I am hates who I've been
'cause who I've been only ever made me...

So sorry for the person I became.
So sorry that it took so long for me to change.
I'm ready to be sure I never become that way again
'cause who I am hates who I've been.
Who I am hates who I've been.

Skillet - One Day Too Late

As the new year dawns, I'd like to share a reminder from Skillet that life is about the things we ought to do that we'll truly miss out on and regret... because we never know when that day we choose to do something will be "One Day Too Late."

Making resolutions have good intentions, but this year I'm choosing just to take the next step- one after another- as the Holy Spirit leads.

Lyrics: (copied from here)
[V1]
Tick tock hear the clock countdown
Wish the minute hand could be rewound
So much to do and so much I need to say
Will tomorrow be too late

Feel the moment slip into the past
Like sand through an hourglass
In the madness I guess I just forget
To do all the things I said

[Pre]
Time passes by
Never thought I'd wind up
One step behind
Now I've made my mind up

[Chorus]
Today I'm gonna try a little harder
Gonna make every minute last longer
Gonna learn to forgive and forget
'Cause we don't have long, gonna make the most of it

Today I'm gonna love my enemies
Reach out to somebody who needs me
Make a change, make the world a better place
'Cause tomorrow could be one day too late
One day too late
One day too late

[V2]
Tick tock hear my life pass by
I can't erase and I can't rewind
Of all the things I regret the most I do...
Wish I'd spent more time with you

Here's my chance for a new beginning
I saved the best for a better ending
And in the end I'll make it up to you, you'll see
You'll get the very best of me

[Bridge]
Your time is running out
You're never gonna get it back
Make the most of every moment
Stop saving the best for last

Disciple - Remedy

The first time I heard this song on the radio, I instantly knew I wanted to buy it. It describes what I have done for a long time by covering up problems in my own life. Rather than holding on to those, I am letting go and holding on to Christ. It resonates with my heart and soul greatly, and I hope it can resonate with yours too:

Lyrics (copied from here):

Lyrics :
[Verse 1]
I see the world in black and gray
Broken dreams of a runaway
Escape the world to medicate
Symptoms gone but disease remains

[Pre-chorus]
If the vision dies will it ever breathe again

[Chorus]
Oh, I've got to let go of the illusion
This is the end of me, You are my remedy
Oh, it's taking its toll - this pollution
This is the end of me, You are my remedy
Where you stop is where you'll start again

[Verse 2]
I hold the weight of sorrow deep
Wide awake but my mind's asleep
Familiar needle scratches on my skin
Like a record warped with ill content

[Bridge]
I've got to let go of all of this
It's the end of me, my remedy
